HBO Max Ad - Week 2

Week 2 Goals:

Take into consideration the feedback from week 1, create a finalized (or almost finalized) pitch deck for the mentors in week 3, and figure out locations.

Commercial Pitch:

An ad for the streaming service "MAX", stemming the idea of being transported into the world of the TV show one is watching.



Week 2 Accomplishments:

  • Flesh out a more specific workflow of how our pipeline will work out

  • Rough model of the apartment

  • Reserving gear and locations

  • Fleshing out filming pipeline and workflow

  • Finalizing shots

General Synopsis:

Week two came with its struggles, mainly with nailing down a location. With it being the Spring Quarter at SCAD, many Film majors are filming their thesis projects, so we were not getting anywhere easily for sets. However, we were able to book the Apartment set at Hamilton Hall's Studio B Green Screen (after deciding whether to use the Green Screen at Montgomery Hall, the Savannah Film Studio's XR stage (LED Volume), and the original apartment where the previz was filmed). The initial Batman scene was also cut for time, so the ad will consist of the Last of Us and Friends. We've concluded that we're also going to have the transition from the apartment to the Last of Us be a growth transition, where the apartment becomes overgrown on screen (see growth sim below).

Essentially, we will be gathering gear, renting out locations, locking down a final actor and crew, rehearsing and filming week 3. See Week 3 goals below:
