Commercial Pitch:

An ad for the streaming service "MAX", stemming the idea of being transported into the world of the TV show one is watching.

Week 1 Accomplishments:

  • Pitch for MAX ad has been created complete with rough storyboarding, rough previz, and a general schedule set up.

  • Feedback gained from pitch presentation is being considered moving forward as the team plans for next steps.

Pitch Presentation:

Feedback from Pitch:

  • Begin the ad with a MAX Logo on the remote or TV for clarity

  • Ensure that the cuts are engaging for the audience and maintain viewer engagement within cuts

  • Make sure that the environments last long enough for the audience to register what is happening

  • Make clear what the actor is watching on screen, showing both the actor and the environment

  • Keep energy high through rhythm of shot cuts

General Synopsis:

Week one has been moving pretty smoothly, as we're starting to get the ball rolling on this project. The main goal for the final product of this ad will be to showcase the immersion that watching shows from a certain streaming platform, in this case MAX, can have on a viewer. We plan to use the Volume LED stage here at SCAD to play into this immersive experience, as well as grow off of the variety of talents in this team to create an overall enjoyable experience for the viewer.

Post-Presentation:

Initially, the main feedback from our presentation was that this project may be a bit too ambitious for the 10-week period we are allotted in the Spring Quarter. Because of this, we will be taking the feedback to cut back a little, but this was to be expected and changes are already in the works. Overall, the presentation was well-received, and the mentors responded positively to it.

Moving Forward:

Long story short, we will be taking into consideration the feedback from this week to finalize a pitch for Week 2. See Week 2 goals below:

Week 2 Goals:

  • Create a more coherent edit and previz for the finalized pitch

  • Create concept art to create a more physical idea of our concepts

  • Shoot rough plates at the main apartment filming location

  • Put a shoot plan together for locations, equipment, and XR stage, as well as starting to schedule and check out these items and locations

  • Start to finalize crew and plans for filming
